China is one of the powerful nations in the Asian history. They have contributed a lot to the cultures of Asians. No wonder one could see almost in every material around him and her saying “Made in China”. Among the cultural influence of the said nation was on the field of medicine. China has contributed much on the concept of medicine, especially on herbal medicines.

According to history, many hundred years ago, the formation of the TCM or also known as the Traditional Chinese Medicine has an exceptional system to make a diagnosis and heal sickness. The method of the TCM is basically distinctive compared to other kinds of medication. In TCM, the knowledge of the human body is established on the knowledge of the universe as explained from Daoism, and the healing of sickness is originated first and foremost on the analysis and segregation of diseases and conditions.

The approach of the TCM is to deal with zang–fu organs as the center of human body. The tissues and the organs are associated through a system of the channels and the blood vessels within the body of humans. The one that works as particular type of transporter of information which is then articulated superficially in jingluo system is called the Qi or Chi. The zang-fu organs dysfunction may be revealed to the body exterior in the network, pathologically, and temporarily, infections of body exterior tissues may also have an effect on their interrelated zang or fu organs. Affected organs may also affect each other by way of internal associations. Traditional Chinese’s medicine medication begins with the examination of the whole system, then concentrates on the improvement of changes pathologically by the zang-fu organs purposes readjusted.

Assessment of a syndrome not only consists of the cause, procedure, position, and kind of the disease, but also the confrontation between the pathogenic factor and body resistance. The basis of the treatment is not only on the symptoms, but also the variation of syndromes. For that reason, those with a one and the same disease may be treated in various ways, and in contrast, diverse diseases may effect in the same condition and are treated in comparable ways.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the scientific analysis and treatment are mostly based on the yin-yang and five elements theories. These speculations use the observable fact and laws of nature to the analysis of the physiological behavior and pathological modifications of the human body and its interrelationships. The usual TCM treatment comprises acupuncture, herbal medicine, and qigong movements. Treatment is accomplished with acupuncture through energizing certain areas of the external body. Herbal medicine acts on zang-fu organs on the inside, while qigong seeks to re-establish the logical information flow inside the system through the adjustment of Qi. These remedies appear very dissimilar in approach; however, they all allocate the same principal sets of beliefs and approaches in the nature of the human body and its area in the universe. A number of scientists illustrate the treatment of diseases by means of herbal prescription, acupuncture, and qigong as an “information therapy”.

One of the products of China is herbal medicine. There is a developing body of research, which signifies that customary uses of plant medications and the recognized pharmacological activity of plant components frequently match. Nonetheless, herbal medicine is different from the medicines at the pharmaceutical drugs. Since the density of plant materials, it is far more stable than medicine based on exceptional active ingredients and is far less possible to bring about side-effects. Another reason would be the herbs are naturally approved in combination, the diverse components of a formulae balance each other, and they go through a mutual synergy which boosts effectiveness and develops safety. Other reasons would also includes, herbal medicine search for mainly to fix internal difference rather than to treat symptoms alone, and therapeutic involvement is designed to promote this self-healing procedure.

Some of the diseases that are cured with Chinese medicines are the following:

Skin diseases

Eczema

Psoriasis

Acne

Urticaria

Gastro-intestinal disorders

Respiratory conditions

Asthma

Bronchitis

The traditional Chinese medicine was much known medical practice a very long time ago because it includes herbs, massage, acupuncture, and dietary therapy, and it was very effective against illness. The traditional Chinese medicine was a fruit of their observation of the human body, the universe, and nature. The traditional Chinese medicine was a very popular method to cure sickness throughout the Asian countries and soon, accepted in the western counties as their alternative medicine.

The beliefs of the ancient Chinese that human beings are related with nature in different ways, has led them into the discovery of the traditional Chinese medicine. These traditional medicines were subjecting to study and were making a very impressive progress as years pass by. Its contact with the western culture made it even more popular because many believed that is very effective in treating functional disorders such as osteoarthritis, and migraine. It is also an alternative treatment to those who does not have that money to buy pharmaceutical medicines. Many also believed that the traditional Chinese medicine is good, and it does not have any toxic side effects in comparison to pharmaceutical medicines.

Some herbal medicines have risks of having an allergic reaction, but this allergic reaction seldom happens. In some other cases, it also has the risk of poisoning. However, most of the cases of allergies come from unprocessed toxic herbs. Most of the unprocessed toxic herbs contain aconite, and heat treatment denatured aconite’s toxicity during the process. Though some may say that Traditional Chinese Medicine is not standardized, many are still using it because it is very effective and very convenient.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine uses dried plants and animal parts like snake, turtle, and ginseng. The concept and principles of the Traditional Chinese Medicine are not really the same. They are coming from different authors who have different point of views and different field of study. The Taoism, Neo-Confucianism, and Buddhism are the teachings that greatly made an impact in the Traditional Chinese Medicine.

A very long time ago the Chinese has already focused on observing the natural laws of the universe. It serves as their guide to know the characterization of humanity in the world. China is considered among of the world’s great nation for their achievements in different field of study, especially in medicine.

Acupuncture which originated in China over 2500 years ago making it one of the oldest and the most common medical procedure worldwide, is derived from the Latin words ‘acus’ and ‘pungere’ meaning needle holes. Since then, it has been an important part of Oriental medicine or also known as traditional Chinese Medicine. The scientific name of acupuncture is paradigm. It is basically a safe technique wherein trained practitioner inserts fine sterile needles as thin as human hair and manipulates acupuncture points or acupoints in the body that lie along organized pathways called meridians to improved stimulation. There has been a lot of misconceptions that it is painful due to the misleading _ acupuncture done on television, which uses needles as big as injection needles when actually, acupuncture needles are difficult to see with your eyes alone. Although people experience acupuncture variedly, it is mostly painless or if ever pain if felt, it is minimally experienced maybe due to some factors like movement of the patient or improper needle placement.

The primary purpose of acupuncture is to normalize blood flow and balance the yin and yang in the body. There are hundreds of body acupoints which can normally be obtained by a measurement unit called the Cun. The Cun or also called the Chinese inch is standardized as per the proportional distances from different landmark points. It is calculated for each individual based on measurements taken by the width of the clients thumb or index finger. There are several ways to locate the approximately 400 acupoints on the body. One is the Palpation method. It is done by feeling for a slight difference in body temperature on the skin surface.

The most commonly used distinctive mechanisms are Electromagnetic signals and Opioid systems activation. Electromagnetic signal decrease pain by increasing the release of chemicals called endorphins to block the message of pain from being delivered up to the brain while Opioid system activation works by releasing opioids in the central nervous system to reduce pain.

Since acupuncture is widely practiced in the United States, acupuncturists believe that it restores health by removing energy imbalances and blockages in the body by regulating the flow of ‘vital energy’, known as ‘Qi’. The effects of acupuncture are intricate. Some people find it very relaxing and energizing. One most positive side effect of acupuncture is that an illness can get remedy while treating for another ailment. It is generally used to treat pain and promote overall health. Because it is very effective in relieving common ailments it is now used as an alternative healing method. There have been a lot of studies conducted on the potential use in adjunct treatment or an acceptable alternative to the following situations: low back pain, headache, asthma, migraine, menstrual cramps, sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, stomach ulcers, osteoarthritis and addictions such as smoking and substance abuse. Side effects seem to relate to poor hygiene and untrained acupuncturist. Possible risks, although very rare include bruising, bleeding and nerve damage.

Fertility Issues

Did you know that undertaking sessions of acupuncture just like other fertility treatments could increase your chance to conceive naturally? It is done by inserting needles in the legs, stomach and to other parts of the body because it is believed that it can increase blood flow to the reproductive organs as well as balance your hormone levels. Research has proven that this treatment can produce positive effects in the conception process. Both men and women can benefit from this treatment.

Weight loss issues

After all the diets, you have made to lose weight but still of little improvement, why not try acupuncture if you’re looking for other alternatives? Acupuncture for weight loss first started when CNN reported successful weight loss clinics due to acupuncture in China in the year 2003. It is believed by the Chinese medicinal theory that obese people have an imbalanced digestive system. Acupuncture helps lose weight by intensifying the digestive system by controlling your appetite and as a result weight loss is attained. Other theories advocate that acupuncture improves metabolism by burning calories at a speedy rate.

Acupuncture specialists have identified acupuncture points associated with weight loss. Some are:

Mouth – for the impetuous eater, smokers and for persons who talk a lot.
Lung – for food addicts and sweet lovers.
Stomach – for persons who binge eating even after they’re jam-packed or for people who love to chew.
Endocrine – for water retention that is closely accountable for some of the weight gain.
Thyroid – for sluggish metabolism.
Adrenal and Ovary – for weight gain due to menopause
Spleen – for sugar imbalances and hormonal inconsistency
Kidney – for nervous system and hormone irregularity.

Three simple steps to smooth, clear skin Pearson’s Promise is a revolutionary Keratosis Pilaris skin care system discovered to help clear dry, bumpy “chicken skin” on the backs of arms and thighs.
