The traditional Chinese medicine was much known medical practice a very long time ago because it includes herbs, massage, acupuncture, and dietary therapy, and it was very effective against illness. The traditional Chinese medicine was a fruit of their observation of the human body, the universe, and nature. The traditional Chinese medicine was a very popular method to cure sickness throughout the Asian countries and soon, accepted in the western counties as their alternative medicine.
The beliefs of the ancient Chinese that human beings are related with nature in different ways, has led them into the discovery of the traditional Chinese medicine. These traditional medicines were subjecting to study and were making a very impressive progress as years pass by. Its contact with the western culture made it even more popular because many believed that is very effective in treating functional disorders such as osteoarthritis, and migraine. It is also an alternative treatment to those who does not have that money to buy pharmaceutical medicines. Many also believed that the traditional Chinese medicine is good, and it does not have any toxic side effects in comparison to pharmaceutical medicines.
Some herbal medicines have risks of having an allergic reaction, but this allergic reaction seldom happens. In some other cases, it also has the risk of poisoning. However, most of the cases of allergies come from unprocessed toxic herbs. Most of the unprocessed toxic herbs contain aconite, and heat treatment denatured aconite’s toxicity during the process. Though some may say that Traditional Chinese Medicine is not standardized, many are still using it because it is very effective and very convenient.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine uses dried plants and animal parts like snake, turtle, and ginseng. The concept and principles of the Traditional Chinese Medicine are not really the same. They are coming from different authors who have different point of views and different field of study. The Taoism, Neo-Confucianism, and Buddhism are the teachings that greatly made an impact in the Traditional Chinese Medicine.
A very long time ago the Chinese has already focused on observing the natural laws of the universe. It serves as their guide to know the characterization of humanity in the world. China is considered among of the world’s great nation for their achievements in different field of study, especially in medicine.
